Thomas' wife Nanette has always been especially fond of roses, and
yellow roses are a token of their love. As he appled the radiant pigment
to my painting of "A Perfect Yellow Rose," He is reminded again
of the love that has filled my life with blessings.

The red rose is the flower of passion. It is the rich scarlet of our
heart's blood. A Perfect Red Rose is the emblem of the greatest
love of all. As such, it also represents the human love that so enriches
our lives — of man for woman, of parent for child.

In "Perseverance;" thunder crashes, sails billow, waves
toss the fragile boat. We see that the clouds are about to break. The sea
will calm; the sailor's perseverance will soon be rewarded by a return
to God's safe heaven. Perhaps this painting can assure each of us that
if we can simply persevere, God's hand of love will soon disperse each
storm.
