The grouper, with its large, gaping mouth and strange eyes, appealed
to artist Peter Calvesbert's penchant for
weird creatures. The pattern of the grouper lends itself particularly
well to staining. Groupers spend a lot of
time at "cleaning stations," where other fish remove parasites from
them. Here, wrasse are cleaning the grouper
and one brave (or stupid?) fish is inside the grouper's mouth. Inside
the box is an even stranger
looking creature a moray eel. The mouse is hiding amongst the coral.
