Peter’s first close up sighting of whales was on a visit to Cape Cod in June 1996 with the Perry family after
the Rosemont International Collectibles Exhibition. Some pieces include the mouse on the whale’s left fin;
others have no mouse. Within this box figurine is the HBC logo, a mermaid’s tail disappearing into the depths,
and a fish jumping the waves. “Deep Blue” is inscribed in the lid, and “I hate Ninevah” faintly inscribed inside.
Due to production difficulties, the base was redesigned to shorten the waves.
