Anyone attending the 2006 House of Peers’ Harmony Kingdom Convention
in Phoenix knows where Peter
got the idea for “Neighborhood Watch II”. The Saguaro cactus, native
to the American Southwest and
Northern Mexico, is an impressive sight and often likened to a hotel
because it acts as host to so many
creatures. Peter’s “hotel” includes an owl, rattlesnake, jack rabbit,
gilded flicker, Gila monster, desert tortoise,
long nosed bat, tarantula and pocket mouse. The interior depicts a
Kokopelli, the Native American fertility
deity that presides over children and agriculture and represents the
spirit of music. On the lid’s rim, notice the
extra hallmark that looks like a small snake with a cross through it.
Peter says there are “precious few jobs I
could do if I weren’t playing with plasticene all day.” He was alarmed
when he recently discovered that one of
these alternative jobs was no longer available to him. At the ripe
old age of 46,
he is no longer eligible to become a sperm donor in the UK!
