We’re not sure what this says about Peter, but when it came time for
him to carve this year’s Romance Annual,
did he think of swans or other elegant creatures that mate for life?
Not this man. Instead, his imagination turned
to vultures, though he says he did toy with the idea of warthogs or
Japanese fighting fish. His philosophy on romance:
“Even if you look like a swamp monster and enjoy burying your head
in offal, that doesn’t mean you can’t love
and be loved.” If vultures can be romantic, then there is hope for
all of us! The interior of this multi-compartment
Romance Annual includes some delicacies that might appeal to the vulture
palate – an eyeball and
a testicle – which can also be found behind the birds. Inscribed on
the lid are “Tiger 10” and “Pete 11”.
During the carving of the piece, Tiger Woods won his 10th major championship,
while Peter managed
to take 11 shots on a hole during a game. Above the vultures’ feet
is the number “1089”. Peter suggests
you type this magic number into your search engine to find out just
how magic it actually is.
